For just $5 per person, the Ripley’s Believe it or Not in St Augustine will be hosting the Jacksonville Area Ice Bucket Challenge 2014 at 8:30am.  Their goal is to make this the Largest Ice Bucket Challenge in the World.  But, they need your help to accomplish this.  All you need to do is grab your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc and take them down to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Odditorium.  Make sure everyone has written down their name, address and phone number and has a current photo ID in order to make their entry official.  Oh, and bring a bucket with you.  Ripley’s will be supplying the ice and water.

Here are the simple rules for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge:

  1. Fill a bucket with ice and water.
  2. Name three people you want to challenge.  They must complete this challenge within 24 hours.  They can either accept the challenge, post their proof and donate $10 to ALSA.org or they can bypass ice water bath altogether and donate $100 to ALSA.org.  Many people are donating more than $10 and doing the challenge as well to help spread the word.
  3. Either you or someone else need to dump the bucket over your head.
  4. Film this all and upload the video to your social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc).  Make sure to tag those people you nominate as well as provide the ALSA.org link in the posted info.  Also, make sure you let people know in the video that they can donate by visiting the ALSA.org website.

Please come to the Jacksonville Area Ice Bucket Challenge 2014 this Saturday, August 23rd.  It will be held in the St Augustine Ripley’s parking lot.  You will need to park somewhere else to keep this area clear.  Let’s help raise even more money for the ALS Association so this debilitating disease can be a thing of the past.
